Activating my SIM card

This is how to activate your new VOOmobile SIM card.

The answer to your question depends on what version of the SIM card you have! To find out more, read this article and check to see if you have an old generation or new generation SIM card. Then you’ll know which part of this article is of interest to you!

You have an "old generation" SIM card

When you receive your VOOmobile SIM card, you are sent an activation e-mail.

·         If you think that you have not received your activation e-mail, check in your unwanted mail

·         If your e-mail is illegible, check that your e-mail inbox is not blocking the contents

·         If you can no longer find this e-mail,  read this article

Don’t lose the support of your VOOmobile SIM card: you may need to consult the information if you lose your code, your mobile, etc.

Have your SIM card at the ready and open your mailbox

Open the e-mail received from VOOmobile with the heading “Activating your SIM card”.

Click on “Activate”

A web page opens where you can confirm receipt of your SIM card.

Enter your PUK code into the “PUK code” box

Then click on “Activate this SIM card”.

The PUK code is made up of 8 digits. It can be found under the silver layer of your SIM card support. Keep it in a safe place!

Your subscription is activated within 24 hours

If you have transferred an existing number, the activation may take up to 72 hours.

Insert your VOOmobile SIM card into your phone

If you have transferred an existing number, wait until your old card no longer displays a network before replacing it with your VOOmobile SIM card.

You have a “new generation” SIM card

When you receive your SIM card, it will be attached to a small support with your PIN and PUK code on it. This card must be kept carefully, it will come in useful in the future.

In the next few days, you will receive a text message and an e-mail allowing you to activate your new card.

From there, you can pick between two activation options:

By phone

Contact the number 8484

Follow the mailbox instructions to enter your PUK code.

Once this is done, you will receive a text message confirming that your portability request has been taken into account. Depending on the time you call, this will be done:

·         Within the hour if you call from Monday to Saturday between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm.

·         Within 24 business hours if you call outside these hours.

Once you receive the confirmation text message, keep your new SIM card at the ready.

Change SIM card

As soon as the network of your old card disappears, insert the new one, restart your phone and insert the new PIN code that you will find on the support.

Configure your mobile

On-line

Go to the activation page

Click on the link http://www.voomobile.be/activation in the e-mail sent to you, go to the identification page to enter your customer number and your myVOO activation number (these two numbers can be found on all your bills).

All you have to do is select the subscription to be migrated and enter your PUK code.

Once this is done, you will receive a text message confirming that your portability request has been taken into account. Depending on the time at which you make the activation request, it will be carried out:

·         Within the hour if you submit the request from Monday to Saturday between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm.

·         Within 24 business hours if you submit the request outside these hours.

Once you receive the confirmation text message, keep your new SIM card at the ready.

Change SIM card

As soon as the network of your old card disappears, insert the new one, restart your phone and insert the new PIN code that you will find on the support.

Attention

For security reasons, we advise you to change your PIN code: Enter **04*0000*NEW PIN*NEW PIN# followed by the call button. Then switch off your mobile. Switch it back on and enter the new PIN code.

I have inserted my SIM card but I have no network connection.

If you have inserted your VOOmobile SIM card but the network does not appear after 20 minutes, switch your mobile off and on again.

If it still doesn’t work, insert your SIM card into another telephone. Wait a few minutes to see whether the network is detected on this other device. If so, you can reinsert your SIM card into your telephone.
